Mystery solved!

Last June, you may recall a trip we took to a cottage in Pacific Grove, in which we discovered some type of horrible creature in the tidal pools of Asilomar:

Well, mystery partially solved. Apparently a similar creature (albeit twice as large) was found munching on the coral and a fish of a British aquarium.

"It really does look like something out of a horror movie," Matt Slater, the aquarium's curator, told the Daily Mail. "It's over 4 feet long with these bizarre-looking jaws."

Apparently, it can also cause permanent nerve damage to humans that touch the nasty-looking spines all over the sides of the thing. Glad I didn't try to pull the thing out for a better look!
