Wow - I already got my Kelly Clarkson CD in the mail today, straight from RCA. The only bad news is that the CD is a promotional copy, meaning it's not shrink wrapped and has a small hole punched in the back of the CD tray card. No big deal, except that a non-shrink-wrapped CD is a little bit cheesy to give away for a Christmas gift. Oh well.
Speaking of CDs in the mail, today I also received copies of both of JJ Heller's new CDs, "The Pretty and the Plain" and "Wake Up the World," which is a Christmas EP. JJ Heller is a singer-songwriter who has come to perform at Church of the Chimes for 3 years in a row, and this year she'll be coming to a service during the Christmas season. She has a pretty voice and simple-smart lyrics. She recently moved to Nashville to pursue her music career, and you can definitely feel the Nashville influence in "The Pretty and the Plain." Really stripped down, beautiful acoustic pop music. Check it out.
